Workers have been briefed on the risk assessment, safe work procedures, and adequately trained according to the Method Statement.

Required gas checks and flammable hazard checks have been carried out and documented.
Safety measures have been taken to properly contain flying sparks (e.g., screening, fire blankets).
Only qualified welders and trained workers are engaged for all hot work.
All necessary PPE has been provided to work personnel (e.g., ear muffs, goggles, hand gloves).
Safety devices (e.g., non-return valve, flashback arrestors) are in good condition and working order.
A trained and competent fire watchman is on standby.
Safety barricades or guardrails are provided around the hot work area to prevent unauthorized entry.
An adequate number and type of fire extinguishers and fire blankets have been provided at the work area.
Gas Cutting Checklist
All cylinder bottles are secured in a suitable cylinder rack or trolley and kept upright.
Correct gas type is used with proper color identification.
Pressure regulator is affixed properly and in good condition.
No valve spindles or connections are lubricated with oil.
Cylinder is kept away from welding tools, sparks, and other heat sources.
