Use this Ladder Checklist template to ensure safety controls are in place to reduce risk of falls from ladders during work at height activities.

General Information
Items to Check
1. Every ladder and step-ladder used of good construction, sound material and adequate strength for the purpose for which it is used
2. Adequate handholds provided to a height of at least one metre above the place of landing of the highest rung to be reached by the feet of any person on the ladder
3. Firm & level ground without obstruction for ladder placement.
4. The ladder or step-ladder secured so as to prevent undue swaying.
5. The ladder is not used in close proximity to open edge of building (>1m)
6. Ladder is used for short duration for light duty work
7. No visible damage & ladder checklist in place.
8. Top 3 rungs covered to prevent use (applicable for A-frame ladders used for work).
9.Lifelines or anchorage points are provided for anchoring the safety harness.
10. Buddy system provided to hold the platform during use.
