Mobile/ Crawler Crane Checklist

General Information

Items to Check - A. Ground Stability and Form Footing

*1. Adequate steel plates provided at work station.

B. Lifting Gears

*1. Crane uses AP-tested lifting gears with expiry date.

*2. No sign of damages or failures in attachment (eg. chain, wire rope, etc).

*3. Tightly and evenly wound wire ropes on drums.

C. Engine

*1. Oil, water and fuel topped up to safe levels.

*2. No sign of oil, water or fuel leakage.

*3. Filters are clean.

*4. No unusual noise or black soot emission.

*5. Control Panel/Guards in place.

D. Hydraulic System

*1. No sign of oil leakage from pump, motor, cylinder, valve, etc.

*2. Hydraulic oil topped up to safe level.

*3. Pump, motor, control lever & valve in good working condition.

E. Brake System

*1. Automatic brake condition of winches is effective.

*2. Free fall operation condition of winches is effective.

*3. Swing brake and boom hoist brake is effective.

F. Travelling System

*1. No sign of serious tension and wear on track shoe.

*2. No sign of oil leakage of track and carrier roller.

*3. Tyres are in good condition with adequate pressure

*4. Drive Transmission / Brakes in good working condition

G. Electric System

*1. Fluid level in battery is acceptable.

*2. Digital display in working condition.

*3. Lighting / Wiring in working condition

*4. Horn / Switches / Gauges in working condition

H. Safety Devices

*1. Limit switch/safety device is in operating condition (eg. hoist, over-hoist, boom stop, etc)

*2. Safety latch is intact for hooks.

I. Outriggers

*1. Outrigger can be fully extended and in working condition.

*2. Proper blocking is available for extended outriggers during lifting.. Others

*3. No signs of damage to main crane parts.

*4. Tightness of bolts and nuts.

*5. Adequate lubrication to moving parts and joints.

*6. Load capacity chart is displayed.
